This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing the Safer Poole Partnership's Domestic Violence Awareness day. The day was loads of fun with a DJ from Hot Radio, and activities for kids and adults including a photo booth, flower arranging and raffle and the team from Good Vibrations in Broadstone. There was also a bake sale which is always a good thing for me, given how much I like cake!
The whole day was to raise awareness of domestic abuse. It's a big issue that can easily go unnoticed because of how difficult it can be for victims to speak out. The Safer Poole Partnership are doing some great work with the Borough of Poole and Dorset Police to raise awareness and provide support for people who might be suffering from domestic abuse. As well as raising awareness, they were also providing direct support for people living through domestic abuse by collecting present's for mothers and children living at Poole's women's refuge.
Despite the cold November weather, spirits were high and the team from the Safer Poole Partnership did a great job at raising spirits and putting on a bit of a party for a very serious cause.
