It's been a while since my last post in the series, but I've been out shooting more portraits of the talented and creative people out there making things in and around Dorset. Today we're in the middle of my home town, Poole visiting Nick Wharam.
Nick is an artist and print maker based in Poole. He works in a number of different styles and techniques and his work combines portraiture, landscape and more abstract compositions which use a variety of techniques. Some of Nick's work can be seen on his website: nickart.org
Nick is a member of Poole Printmakers which is a membership-led co-operative of artists based in an 18th century cowshed in the heart of Poole's old town. The group was formed in 1991 and has operated from the building since. They have some great facilities including printing presses both large and small and facilities for silkscreen printing and etching.
Thanks to Nick for his time and for a fascinating couple of hours introducing me to the world of printmaking and this absolute gem which has been hiding in plain sight in the corner of a car park in Poole town centre.
